Washington: The US State Department has approved a potential sale of military equipment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including F-35 Lightning II strike fighter aircraft and related equipment.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the State Department confirmed in an official statement that the proposed deal, with an estimated total cost of $24.3 billion, would have no adverse impact on US defense readiness.
