Hammamet: The 115th meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) commenced in Hammamet, Tunisia, featuring an Iraqi delegation led by Thair Al-Ghanimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The event, held on Sunday, saw participation from representatives of ASBU’s member states and was presided over by Karim Hammadi, President of the Iraqi Media Network, who serves as Second Vice President of ASBU.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the council addressed various media-centric topics, spanning radio and television programming, technical and engineering matters, and new media developments. The preparations for this year’s Arab Radio and Television Festival, themed ‘Where Image Pulses and Future Echoes,’ were also discussed.

Karim Hammadi proposed an initiative that garnered the support and commendation of attending delegations. The proposal advocates for the creation of partnerships among Arab television and radio broadcasters and media institutions. This initiative is designed to facilitate the exchange of news and programs, thereby enhancing cooperation among Arab media organizations. It also aims to promote cultural exchange by offering Arab countries wider opportunities to showcase and share their cultural identities.
