Iraq Wins Silver at the Asian Games in Teqball


Baghdad: In the Teqball competition at the “Aichi-Nagoya 2026” Asian Games, Iraqi athlete Ali Jalil Mazhar won the silver medal today, Sunday, after losing the final match to South Korea’s Lee Jun-seok in straight sets. Jun-seok narrowly clinched the first set 12-11 before winning the second set 12-5 to secure the gold medal.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the match showcased a strong performance by both athletes, with Mazhar demonstrating skill and determination throughout the competition. The closely contested first set highlighted Mazhar’s ability to challenge his opponent, although Jun-seok ultimately emerged victorious.
