New York:Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein of Iraq and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand engaged in discussions on international developments and efforts to contain conflicts during a meeting at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Iraq and Canada, exploring ways to bolster joint cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The discussions also covered significant challenges confronting the international community, particularly those related to security developments from ongoing conflicts. These conflicts have notable economic repercussions and impact regional and international stability. Both ministers addressed efforts at regional and international levels aimed at containing these conflicts and mitigating their effects.

The meeting underscored the importance of diplomatic initiatives and efforts to achieve peaceful resolutions. Both sides expressed a
commitment to translating international initiatives into practical actions that promote de-escalation and enhance security and stability globally.
