Baghdad:Major General Yehia Rasool, spokesperson for Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, announced that no Global Coalition personnel will remain in Iraq after September 30. He noted that Iraqi security and intelligence agencies have made significant progress in combating terrorism and corruption.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, Rasool emphasized that the withdrawal of Global Coalition personnel is a result of Iraq’s own efforts. He highlighted that Iraqis were responsible for liberating their territory with support from the Global Coalition and that bilateral relations with these countries are strong.
Rasool also mentioned that the operation that resulted in the death of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was based on Iraqi intelligence. He noted that Iraqi intelligence agencies have dealt significant blows to terrorism and corruption, while security forces have advanced in controlling the situation.
Additionally, he stated that Iraq’s borders are equipped with advanced surveillance systems and equipment. The Iraqi Air Force operates American, French, Korean, and Czech aircraft, and is responsible for conducting air strikes. Rasool noted that the Iraqi army will now use Victoria Base to secure the country’s airspace and territory, confirming that no Global Coalition aircraft are stationed at Victoria Base.
