Baghdad:Nineveh: Tribal sheikhs and notables in Nineveh Governorate celebrated Sovereignty Day, emphasizing the importance of social solidarity and support for state institutions and security forces in maintaining Iraq’s security and stability.
According to Iraqi News Agency, a ceremony was organized by the Nineveh Tribal Affairs Directorate to mark Sovereignty Day, which commemorates the complete withdrawal of Coalition forces from Iraq. The event was attended by religious figures, tribal leaders, and officials from various communities, alongside security commanders.
Participants at the ceremony highlighted Sovereignty Day as a significant national milestone linked to Iraqi sovereignty, stressing the necessity of community solidarity and support for state institutions and security forces in safeguarding the nation.
Brigadier General Mazen Abdullah, Media Director of the Nineveh Police, stated that the celebration is an important national occasion. He commended the participation of Nineveh’s tribal sheikhs, noting that their involvement underscores social unity and honors the sacrifices made to protect Iraq. Abdullah called for ongoing support for state institutions and security forces, encouraging cooperation among society’s components to strengthen security and stability in Iraq.
