Asaib Ahl al-Haq Celebrates U.S. Troop Withdrawal as a Historic Milestone

Baghdad:The Asaib Ahl al-Haq Movement has declared the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq as a historic milestone, marking the end of a long political process and the restoration of Iraqi sovereignty.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the movement’s statement emphasized that this development, effective from September 30, is the culmination of over two decades since the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003. The movement credited Iraqi sacrifices and resistance for playing a significant role in ending the foreign military presence in the country.

The Asaib Ahl al-Haq Movement highlighted its involvement in the political and military efforts to confront U.S. forces, underscoring its consistent call for the withdrawal of foreign troops. The statement emphasized the long journey towards restoring sovereignty, involving political actions, government decisions, and sacrifices by Iraqis.

The movement paid tribute to Iraq’s martyrs and the Islamic resistance members who resisted foreign forces, acknowledging their contributions to the country’s sovereignty and independence. It also urged continued efforts by the Iraqi government to remove all foreign military forces, including Turkish troops in northern Iraq, and called for the protection of Iraqi airspace through modern defense systems.

Additionally, the movement expressed the need to free Iraqi oil revenue funds from U.S. control and to overcome barriers to achieving full sovereignty. With the end of the U.S. military presence, Asaib Ahl al-Haq called on Iraqis to celebrate this significant achievement by raising the national flag and praised the Council of Ministers’ step towards advancing the Popular Mobilization Forces Law.

The statement concluded with a prayer for Iraq’s martyrs and hopes for a future of security, dignity, and independence.
