Government Efforts to Boost Economic Activity Amid Regional Challenges

Baghdad:A government source confirmed efforts to stimulate economic activity and protect purchasing power in response to a slowdown in buying and selling activity.

According to the National Iraqi News Agency, the source noted that regional tensions and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz are challenges faced not only by Iraq but by many countries in the region. The government is actively working to address internal obstacles to stimulate commercial and productive activities. Efforts are being made to facilitate financing for productive projects and support the private sector.

The source also discussed a proposal regarding changes to the currency or the removal of zeros, clarifying that it remains in the initial discussion phase with no decision made. Strengthening market confidence requires clear information and practical steps, alongside cooperation between the government, financial institutions, and the private sector.

Citizens, merchants, and business owners are urged to remain calm and rely on official information amid circulating news.
