Dutch Ministry of Defense Highlights Coalition’s Exit from Iraq as Key to Stability

Baghdad:The Dutch Ministry of Defense stated that the departure of the international coalition from Iraq signifies a crucial step towards the nation’s stabilization following the culmination of Operation Inherent Resolve.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry explained that the conclusion of Operation Inherent Resolve, led by a US-led coalition against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, marks the end of the international legal framework for Dutch military involvement in Iraq.

The statement further noted that the NATO mission in Iraq, which has been based in Italy since the start of the year due to security concerns, currently has no presence in Iraq. Consequently, there is no Dutch military presence in the region at this time.

The ministry underscored that the coalition’s exit follows the successful campaign against ISIS, marking a pivotal moment in Iraq’s journey towards stabilization.
