French Joint Staff Confirms Iraqi Army’s Security Readiness


Baghdad:The Iraqi Army is now deemed capable of managing the security of Iraq following the withdrawal of coalition forces.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the French Joint Staff has stated that the end of “Operation Inherent Resolve” forces’ presence in Iraq is a significant step in combating ISIS and bolstering the Iraqi Army’s capabilities. This development signifies that the Iraqi Army can now independently handle the nation’s security responsibilities.



France has completed the repatriation of its last troops involved in the coalition. However, it remains open to future cooperation with Baghdad if requested.
