Washington:The US State Department has announced the lifting of the ban on supplying military products to Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Syria has been removed from the list of countries that were subject to a policy prohibiting the issuance of licenses and permits needed for the export of military equipment and defense services.

The US administration will now consider granting these licenses to Syria. The amendment to the list is set to take effect on October 1st.
