Iraq’s Foreign Minister Announces Plans for Defense Partnerships and Economic Initiatives


Baghdad:Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced ongoing negotiations with armed factions to surrender their weapons according to a specific timeline.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hussein emphasized a firm plan to consolidate arms under state control, expecting armed factions to comply by handing over their weapons.



He also highlighted Iraq’s strong relations with both the United States and Iran, expressing hope for establishing a bilateral defense partnership with the United States and considering similar collaborations with other nations.



On the economic front, the Minister revealed that discussions have been initiated with Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey to construct a pipeline aimed at diversifying Iraq’s oil export routes.
