Accra:The Supreme Judicial Council President, Judge Faiq Zidan, emphasized that the judiciary will continue to serve as a guarantor of rights and a bastion of justice, prioritizing Iraq and the interests of its people above all other considerations.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Judge Zidan made these remarks in a statement on Iraq’s National Day. He congratulated the nation and reflected on Iraq’s historical significance as the cradle of early civilization, where law and societal organization were first conceptualized. He noted that this legacy is both a source of pride and a responsibility to build a state that respects the constitution, safeguards rights and freedoms, and establishes justice as the foundation of its stability.
Judge Zidan also addressed the current challenges facing Iraq, asserting that the nation, with its deep-rooted legal heritage, is capable of protecting its present and shaping its future. He emphasized the importance of robust institutions, an independent judiciary, and a national will guided by the constitution and the law.
In reaffirming the judiciary’s role, he stated that it will remain steadfast in ensuring justice and upholding the interests of Iraq and its people above all else.
