Accra:US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Iraq on its National Day, acknowledging the nation’s efforts to bolster its sovereignty and contribute to regional security and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rubio, speaking on behalf of the United States, extended his congratulations to the Iraqi people for their National Day on October 3. He emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi’s visit to Washington last July, where he met with President Trump at the White House, highlighting the robust friendship and shared commitment to a prosperous future between the two countries.

Rubio remarked on the historic economic partnerships announced during Al-Zaidi’s visit, illustrating the potential for cooperation between American and Iraqi companies. He also praised Iraq’s initiatives in reinforcing its sovereignty and enhancing security and stability in the region.
