Baghdad Operations Command Arrests 28 in Drug Trafficking Crackdown

Baghdad:The Baghdad Operations Command has announced the arrest of 28 individuals accused of drug trafficking and promotion in a series of security operations conducted from September 16 to October 2.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the joint units of the Baghdad Operations Command executed these operations as part of their proactive efforts to enhance local security. In addition to the 28 suspects involved in narcotics-related activities, other individuals were apprehended on charges of forgery and illegal possession of weapons.

The operations also led to the arrest of 15 foreign nationals for violating residency and nationality regulations. Authorities seized weapons, ammunition, and materials lacking proper licensing.

Furthermore, several vehicles and motorcycles found in violation of traffic regulations were impounded during this period. These measures aim to reinforce security, enforce the law, and maintain stability in the capital.
