Oil Minister Discusses Expanding Export Capacities with Turkey

Ceyhan:Oil Minister Basim Al-Abadi confirmed that during his recent visit to Turkey, he engaged in discussions about enhancing export capacities via Ceyhan.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Abadi met with the Turkish Minister of Energy where they focused on continuing the drafting of the Iraqi-Turkish agreement concerning oil exports through Ceyhan. The talks also included the participation of Turkish companies in Iraqi oil and gas projects.

The Minister emphasized the significance of Turkish company involvement in Iraqi projects as it is crucial for attracting qualified international companies to develop and invest in Iraq’s oil and gas sectors optimally.

He noted that the discussions were productive, leading to the formation of joint technical committees. These committees are tasked with oil field investment and the development and construction of oil facility infrastructure.

Additionally, the discussions covered partnerships between Turkish and Iraqi companies, with the Minister expressing hope for a smooth process to achieve the desired goals. This aligns with the government’s vision and strategy, as well as the Ministry’s ambitious plans.
