Baghdad Operations Command Closes Brick Factories for Environmental Violations

Baghdad:The Baghdad Operations Command has announced the closure of several brick factories and ready-mix concrete companies on the Rusafa side of the city due to violations of environmental regulations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the closures were part of a broader initiative by a committee formed under Diwani Order (241285) to inspect unlicensed factories, plants, and metal smelting kilns. The committee’s goal is to mitigate environmental pollution resulting from gas emissions and odors linked to industrial production processes.

The committee, in collaboration with detachments from the National Security Service, the Ministry of Environment, and municipal departments, succeeded in shutting down the operations of these unauthorized facilities. The affected areas include Nahrawan and Bob al-Sham, where the factories posed risks to public health and safety by failing to comply with environmental standards.
