Siena:Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, reaffirmed Iraq’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause during a meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq, Samar Abdul Rahman Hussein Awadallah.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, which took place at al-Maliki’s office, focused on the bilateral relations between Iraq and Palestine and the latest regional developments. Al-Maliki emphasized Iraq’s firm commitment to supporting the Palestinian people’s aspirations and their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He urged for intensified Arab and international efforts to stop the assaults and violations against Palestinians, highlighting the necessity to protect civilians and alleviate their humanitarian plight.

The Palestinian ambassador expressed gratitude for Iraq’s supportive position, praising its role in defending Palestinian rights in regional and international arenas.
