CBI Completes Import Fund Transfer Requests

Accra:The Central Bank of Iraq has announced the completion of fund transfer requests related to imports that were pending prior to the exchange rate adjustment on October 7, 2026, provided they met all applicable requirements and regulations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the bank stated that it has fulfilled all eligible requests for import-related fund transfers that were outstanding before the exchange rate change.

The CBI encouraged traders and companies involved in these requests to contact their respective banks to confirm the execution of their international transfers. It also urged them to file complaints via the bank’s electronic complaints platform if transfers faced unjustified delays or if they were asked for additional payments contrary to the approved regulations. The CBI emphasized its readiness to take action against any banks found in violation of these rules.

Additionally, the bank reassured traders, companies, and citizens that import financing would proceed regularly, with foreign currency available through banks to meet eligible requests. This initiative aims to support trade activity and ensure the continuous flow of goods into domestic markets.
