Baghdad:Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi has emphasized that his recent visit to Saudi Arabia was pre-arranged and intended to convey a positive message to the Kingdom.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a televised interview with the Iraqi News Channel, Al-Zaidi discussed regional security and the future of bilateral relations with the Saudi Crown Prince. He highlighted efforts to build a distinctive relationship with Saudi Arabia and to strengthen ties with Gulf states.
Al-Zaidi also commented on the regional crisis, stating that it must ultimately be resolved through an agreement. He mentioned that closing the Iraq-Iran border would not serve the interests of either country, as it would effectively impose an economic siege on Iraq itself.
