TEHRAN: A clash broke out between Iranian security forces and a cell suspected of having links to Israeli intelligence, reportedly planning a terrorist attack in Tehran, as reported by the Iranian Mehr News Agency on Wednesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the confrontation occurred in the city of Ray, located to the south of Tehran. Security forces engaged with the members of the cell, who were allegedly preparing to execute terrorist attacks in densely populated regions of the capital. The plot was successfully thwarted by the security forces, preventing potential attacks on civilian areas.
