Baghdad: The Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi, has formally authorized university, college, and institute councils to adjust the results of postgraduate applicants. This decision allows these institutions to boost the scores of applicants who achieved between 40 and 44 on their competitive entrance exams by an additional five points, contingent upon the availability of vacant seats within the approved admission plan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this move aims to maximize the number of applicants who can fill the available seats in postgraduate programs. The adjustment process will prioritize applicants with the highest competitive scores, ensuring a merit-based selection among those eligible.

The Ministry of Higher Education has emphasized that the adjustment and placement procedures must be completed within three days of notification to all relevant institutions. Institutions are required to report back to the ministry with the details of the processes undertaken and the complete results of the adjustments and placements after the specified period.

Furthermore, the ministry has instructed that university admission orders are to be issued only after the completion of the placement process, adhering strictly to the approved procedures and regulations.
