Diwaniyah: Khalid al-Khaza’i, head of the local union of agricultural cooperative societies in Diwaniyah, announced that the Minister of Agriculture has directed the Department of Agricultural Lands and the provincial directorates of agriculture to proceed with renewing agricultural contracts, transferring their rights and obligations, and converting them to Law No. 24 of 2024, without requiring payment of rent.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Khaza’i stated that farmers holding agricultural contracts concluded under the provisions of Law No. 35 of 1983, which have not been renewed, have been invited to visit the Diwaniyah Agriculture Directorate and the agricultural divisions in the districts and sub-districts to process their renewal applications.
