Anbar: Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohammed Nouri, inaugurated Iraq’s first agricultural pesticide production plant in Anbar province. The event marks a significant development in the country’s industrial and agricultural sectors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the newly opened factory boasts a production capacity of 1.5 million liters annually and represents an investment exceeding 14 billion dinars. The plant spans 29 dunams (approximately 1.5 acres) and will produce various types of pesticides to support agriculture, public health, and livestock.

During his opening remarks, Minister Nouri emphasized the broader economic implications of the project. He stated that the factory is not merely an industrial facility but a crucial step towards an integrated economic path for Anbar and Iraq. By supporting local agriculture and reducing reliance on imports, the factory aims to boost job opportunities and economic stability.

Minister Nouri highlighted the importance of creating a value chain within Iraq, underscoring the need for industry and agriculture to work in tandem. He stressed the potential for transforming existing facilities, lands, and capabilities into productive projects that can provide employment and stimulate economic growth.

The inauguration was attended by several high-profile officials, including the Head of the Presidential Diwan, Yahya al-Muhammadi, the Minister of Agriculture, Abdul Rahim al-Shammari, and the Governor of Anbar, Omar Danbous, alongside other dignitaries.
