Gaza city: Western media outlets in the Gaza Strip reported on Thursday that aircraft dropped humanitarian aid west of the city of Nuseirat, north of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. Photos showed parachutes carrying humanitarian aid descending from the air.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, between July 26 and August 10, 2025, approximately 1,218 airdrops of aid were dropped into the Gaza Strip. This is equivalent to only about 40.6 trucks of aid, at a rate of 2.5 trucks per day. This represents a very small percentage (0.4%) of the total actual need in the Strip, which requires approximately 600 trucks per day to meet basic needs and prevent famine.

Airdrops of aid continue to be dropped into Gaza, but in very small quantities compared to the needs. They face significant challenges on the ground in terms of safety, distribution, and effectiveness, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in the Strip. This method is considered part of international efforts and humanitarian support, but it is not a comprehensive solution to the crisis.
