Airports to Be Equipped with Latest Smart Screening Devices


Baghdad: The Airport Security Committee convened to discuss the implementation of modern devices and technologies to improve inspection processes and enhance risk detection capabilities.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Higher Committee for Airport Security, chaired by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, held its inaugural meeting to explore strategies for boosting security measures and refining organizational procedures at the nation’s airports. The discussions focused on equipping airports with advanced smart screening devices and modern monitoring technologies aimed at increasing inspection efficiency and ensuring early risk detection.



The Security Media Cell released a statement highlighting that the meeting aimed to implement the highest safety and security standards. The attendees examined mechanisms for integrating these cutting-edge technologies into airport operations and enhancing field coordination among all operational agencies. Furthermore, Al-Shammari emphasized the necessity of intensifying training programs for security personnel to ensure they are well-prepared to handle emergencies professionally. He noted that airport security serves as the country’s primary gateway, necessitating the highest levels of readiness and discipline.
