Najaf: In a statistic released during the commemoration of the Prophet’s (PBUH) death anniversary, the Al-Alawi Shrine announced the participation of 2,500 volunteers and the distribution of a quarter of a million meals to visitors. The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali also revealed a comprehensive report detailing its extensive services provided to pilgrims during the event.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Haider Rahim, head of the Media Department, emphasized the security and organizational measures implemented to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. The event witnessed the active participation of 2,500 male and female volunteers. Additionally, more than 350 media outlets from local, Iraqi, and international spheres, along with content creators and amateur photographers, were present to cover the event. To cater to the religious needs of the visitors, 15 stations were established, hosting 60 male and female preachers.

Rahim further elaborated on the logistical efforts, highlighting the distribution of over a quarter of a million meals through 12 outlets during the night and day of the occasion. The medical needs of the attendees were addressed by five medical teams, consisting of 280 personnel, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics. The shrine also accommodated more than 100 mourning processions, providing logistical support to over 350 processions. In terms of resources, more than 3 million liters of potable water were produced, alongside 6 million liters of raw water. The event operations were supported by over 350 vehicles utilized for transportation, crowd control, and various support services, including firefighting, emergency medical services, evacuation, and funeral transport.
