Najaf: The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali has announced its commitment to sponsor and rehabilitate the facilities of the Oncology Center in Najaf. This decision follows an appeal from the center’s administration, which highlighted the urgent need for support and care.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the announcement was made during a meeting between Issa al-Kharsan, the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, and Dr. Haider al-Shibli, the head of the Oncology Center in Najaf. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Al-Rasoul Al-A’zam Medical Center, which is affiliated with the Holy Shrine.
Al-Kharsan expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the medical staff at the center, emphasizing the Holy Shrine’s commitment to playing its humanitarian role. He noted that the shrine would support the center by renovating its critical facilities, particularly the operating room.
Jawad al-Ismaili, head of the Al-Rasoul Al-A’zam Medical Center, stated that the shrine’s specialized engineering and technical team would undertake the renovation process. They plan to conduct a field visit to oversee the renovation and address the requirements identified by the center’s administration.
Dr. Al-Shibli confirmed that the discussions addressed the current health crisis at the Oncology Center. He mentioned that there would be a visit to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali to ensure that all necessary requirements for the center’s renovation are met.
