Al-Araji and Al-Shatri Affirm Security Readiness to President Amid Syria Developments


Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid engaged in discussions with National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and National Intelligence Service Chief Hamid al-Shatri regarding the latest developments in Syria.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency of the Republic issued a press release stating that the President received al-Araji and al-Shatri in Baghdad. The meeting focused on the prevailing security situation within the country and reviewed the evolving circumstances in Syria. The President underscored the importance of dialogue to reduce tensions and address the crisis while highlighting the need for civilian protection.



The President condemned the acts of violence by terrorist organizations against citizens, urging the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to halt the violence and terrorism in Syria and ensure civilian protection. He emphasized the need for measures to enhance national preparedness, safeguard internal stability, and improve coordination between security agencies and government bodies to ensure effective responses to any developments, thereby maintaining Iraq’s security and stability.



Al-Araji and al-Shatri, for their part, acknowledged the rapidly changing security dynamics in Syria and its regional implications, affirming the readiness of Iraqi security institutions to ensure the country’s security and stability.
