Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized the urgency of forming a new government within the constitutional timelines. The Presidency announced in a press release that President Rashid met with Farhad al-Atroushi, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, at Baghdad Palace on Tuesday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the upcoming constitutional obligations. The President underscored the importance of quickly establishing the new government in adherence to constitutional deadlines. He noted that this would facilitate the smooth operation of state institutions, bolster political stability, and align with the citizens’ aspirations.
Furthermore, President Rashid highlighted the need for cooperation and coordination between the executive and legislative branches to serve the national interest and fortify the democratic process in the country.
Al-Atroushi, on his part, reiterated the House of Representatives’ commitment to its constitutional duties. He stressed the significance of collaboration among national forces to meet forthcoming obligations and solidify political stability.
