Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji discussed security cooperation between the central and regional security forces with Sheikh Jalal Sheikh Naji, head of the Zanyari Security Service of the Kurdistan Region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, which also included the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Kahdar Mohammed Saeed, and the head of the Asayish Service of the Kurdistan Region, Major General Hiwa Ahmed, focused on enhancing security coordination between the central and regional forces, particularly concerning border control, smuggling prevention, and counter-terrorism efforts.
The discussions further covered the implementation of the security agreement provisions between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, specifically related to border control. Both parties also examined several shared files and issues that aim to bolster and maintain cooperation and coordination between the central and regional security forces.
