Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji engaged in discussions regarding the state of Iraqi prisons with Ziad al-Tamimi, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place in al-Araji’s office, where ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Justice and the Chancellery were key topics. The discussions aimed to address the pressing issues concerning the management and conditions of Iraqi prisons.

The Chancellery’s statement highlighted that both parties explored several mutual files and issues, concentrating on the situation within Iraqi prisons and the broader human rights agenda. The dialogue underscored the importance of sustained, constructive cooperation among all relevant institutions.

Both al-Araji and al-Tamimi stressed the critical need for institutional integration. They noted that such integration is essential for overcoming challenges faced by citizens, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of governance and administration in the justice and security sectors.
