Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Clemens Zimetner, at his office on Wednesday. Their meeting focused on reviewing the EU mission’s ongoing and future tasks in Iraq while ensuring the continuation of constructive cooperation between Iraq and the European Union.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions highlighted the EU mission’s contributions in Iraq and explored strategies for further collaboration. The talks also emphasized the significance of Iraq’s political and security stability, along with the political achievements aligned with the government’s program. This program prioritizes openness and the development of Iraq’s relationships with both regional and international partners.
Al-Araji reiterated the Iraqi government’s commitment to engaging with the global community. He underscored that Iraq’s foreign policy, centered around purposeful diplomacy, prioritizes dialogue and the nation’s higher interests as fundamental elements in its international engagements.
