Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with the US Charg© d’Affaires in Baghdad, Stephen Fagin, discussing Iraq’s dedication to dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges. The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on the importance of peaceful resolutions to ongoing issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion included a review of regional developments and a mutual welcome of the recent calm in the area. Fagin commended the Iraqi government and its security services for their efforts in protecting embassies and diplomatic missions, highlighting their professionalism and effectiveness.

Fagin also acknowledged Iraq’s role in repatriating its citizens from al-Hawl camp, despite the region’s challenges. Al-Araji emphasized Iraq’s commitment to maintaining balanced relations with all countries and fostering common ground with its neighbors. He expressed hope for lasting peace, the cessation of war, and the lifting of the siege on Gaza.
