Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to reforming the country’s economic situation. The National Security Advisory stated in a press release: “Al-Araji met today, Tuesday, with Eric Boschut, Head of Programs in Iraq at the United Nations International Trade Centre (ITC).”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added: “During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the ITC’s programs in various fields, particularly economic, trade, industrial, and agricultural sectors, in order to serve Iraqi citizens and provide job opportunities.”
During the meeting, al-Araji emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to reforming the country’s economic situation, stressing the great importance of the private sector and its pivotal role in achieving development.
For his part, Eric Boschut expressed the ITC’s support for economic development in Iraq through its programs in the fields of agriculture, industry, and trade, as well as the construction and housing sectors.
