Erbil: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad al-Atroushi met today with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to discuss the latest developments in the political process and the functioning of the legislative branch.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Atroushi’s media office indicated that the meeting focused on the general situation in the country, recent political developments, and the legislative branch’s role in fulfilling its constitutional duties related to legislation and oversight.

The Deputy Speaker expressed his appreciation to the President of the Region for his support of the political process, emphasizing the importance of resolving outstanding issues between the federal and regional governments in alignment with the constitution and the supreme national interest.

In response, the President of the Kurdistan Region praised al-Atroushi’s efforts to bridge gaps between parliamentary blocs and national political forces. He stressed the need for a unified vision to confront current challenges and enhance stability throughout the country.
