Baghdad:President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan, met with His Beatitude Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan, the Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, to discuss legal mechanisms aimed at safeguarding the rights of the Christian community.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place on Monday and included a delegation accompanying Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan. Dr. Rami Joseph Agajan, Head of the Endowment Office of Christian, Yazidi, and Sabean Mandaean Religions, was also present.

The Supreme Judicial Council, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency, emphasized the focus of the meeting on exploring legal mechanisms to ensure the protection of Christians’ rights.
