Baghdad: Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Akira Endo, to discuss the development of bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan. The meeting took place in al-Hakim’s office, where both parties exchanged views on how to enhance cooperation between Baghdad and Tokyo.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of strengthening ties to benefit the interests of both nations and their citizens. He urged for increased participation from Japanese companies and institutions in Iraq, highlighting the positive perception that Iraqis hold towards Japan and its people.

Al-Hakim provided an overview of Iraq’s political landscape, noting that the current stability is a result of the resilience and determination of the Iraqi populace. This stability has fostered a conducive environment for political, security, and social advancement. He assured that Iraq is committed to progressing and will not regress to previous states of instability.

He also elaborated on the significance of the upcoming elections, describing them as crucial for maintaining and enhancing the current stability. Al-Hakim emphasized that a qualitative shift towards sustainable stability is contingent upon the election outcomes, active participation, and the collective responsibility of all stakeholders.
