Baghdad: The Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met this evening with former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi. A statement by al-Hakim’s office stated that the two sides discussed the political scene in detail, as well as the Arbaeen pilgrimage and its national and international cohesion, and the generosity and giving shown by Iraqis in hosting the visitors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, they reiterated the importance of preserving the stability achieved in Iraq, and al-Hakim explained that this stability is the result of the sacrifices of Iraqis from various communities. Al-Hakim also stressed the importance of the upcoming elections in supporting this stability and transforming it into sustainable stability, and renewed the call for broad, effective, and informed participation in the upcoming elections.
