Al-Hakim and Russian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Iraq-Russia Ties

Baghdad: Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the National State Forces Alliance, engaged in discussions with Elbrus Kutrashev, the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Russia. The meeting aimed at finding ways to develop these relations in a manner beneficial to both nations and their citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim hosted the Russian Ambassador at his Baghdad office. During the meeting, they explored avenues to strengthen bilateral ties. Al-Hakim emphasized Iraq's progress in overcoming political challenges, fulfilling constitutional duties, and forming a new government. He pointed out that the primary challenge now is economic, as the country works to overcome the impacts of past conflicts.

Al-Hakim expressed optimism about Iraq's capacity to navigate this transitional phase, reaffirming his support for the government's reform initiatives and its anti-corruption campaign. He advocated for regional stability, asserting that dialogue is the most effective means of resolving disputes and protecting mutual interests.

Furthermore, Al-Hakim urged regional and global powers to amplify their efforts and apply pressure to achieve lasting agreements among conflicting parties.
