Baghdad: The Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, called for standing against all forms of discrimination and political and ethnic violence.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim made this appeal while reflecting on a tragic event in the nation’s history. “We sadly recall a painful memory in the history of our homeland. Forty-two years ago, one of the most heinous crimes committed by the former dictatorial regime against our Kurdish people occurred when it committed the crime of genocide against thousands of Barzani people, in flagrant violation of all human values, divine laws, and international laws,” he stated.
Al-Hakim further urged national forces and the international community to unite against discrimination and violence. He emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and fostering a culture of coexistence and civil peace.
