Baghdad: Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, met with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Nicol² Fontana, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and the exchange of expertise between Iraq and Italy. During the meeting, both parties shared views on developing and strengthening ties in a way that benefits both nations and their citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the significance of institutional collaboration, stating that Iraq welcomes international partnerships while prioritizing its sovereignty and the welfare of its people. He acknowledged Iraq’s past challenges-security, political, and social-and highlighted the current economic difficulties stemming from decreased oil prices. Al-Hakim expressed confidence in Iraq’s ability to overcome these issues through strategic planning and collective responsibility towards national interests.

Furthermore, al-Hakim urged for regional stability and advocated for dialogue and consultation as means to resolve ongoing disputes.
