Baghdad: Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed that Iraq is experiencing unprecedented stability. His media office stated in a press release that al-Hakim received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Clemens Smutner, at his office in Baghdad on Monday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as bilateral relations between Iraq and the European Union, and the general situation in the region. Al-Hakim emphasized the importance of the European Union to Iraq, given the long-standing relations between Iraq and the EU and its member states.

Al-Hakim indicated that Iraq is open to all within the framework of its foreign relations, in a manner that preserves its interests and sovereignty, stressing that this balanced openness represents a choice that serves the national interest.

Al-Hakim stated that Iraq is experiencing unprecedented stability on the political, social, and security levels, calling for the continuation and preservation of this stability and its transformation into sustainable stability, while emphasizing the responsibility of everyone to maintain and strengthen it.

He explained that the real challenge facing Iraq is the economic one, particularly diversifying sources of income, revitalizing productive sectors, and investing in Iraq’s economic potential, stressing the importance of practical solutions to this challenge.
