Al-Hakim Urges Iraqi Christians to Voluntarily Return and Aid in Nation’s Rebuilding


Baghdad: Ammar Al-Hakim, head of the Alliance of National State Forces, has renewed his call for the voluntary return of Iraqi Christians to contribute to rebuilding their country.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim received Patriarch Mar Gewargis III Younan, head of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and worldwide, on Monday morning. He extended his congratulations to him and to Iraqi Christians on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.



During their meeting, Al-Hakim reaffirmed the deep-rooted presence of the Christian community in Iraq, highlighting its contribution to society and its role in enriching Iraqi culture. He emphasized the importance of the voluntary return of Iraqi Christians to participate in the nation’s reconstruction efforts, noting that Iraq is currently experiencing political, social, and security stability.



Al-Hakim also mentioned that the recent elections were a significant achievement, reflecting society’s commitment to the political system and unity around it, marking progress in Iraq’s journey towards stability and development.
