Baghdad: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, has emphasized the critical importance of adhering to constitutional timelines for the election of the Speaker of Parliament and his two deputies in today’s session.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim met with members of the National State Forces Alliance parliamentary bloc. He highlighted the unity and cohesion within the bloc, stressing the necessity of collaboration with other parliamentary groups. Al-Hakim urged leveraging the alliance’s popularity to strengthen joint efforts within Parliament, aiming to fulfill the Iraqi people’s aspirations for development and enact laws beneficial to citizens.
Al-Hakim also underscored the importance of working inclusively for all Iraqis, free from sectarian bias, and the need to turn election promises into concrete outcomes. He called for a robust parliamentary performance to rejuvenate the oversight and legislative functions of Parliament, ensuring the institution effectively serves the public interest.
