Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi and Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari emphasized the importance of coordination between the legislative and executive branches.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s Media Office stated in a press release that Al-Halbousi received Al-Shammari and his accompanying delegation this evening, Thursday. The meeting was an opportunity for the Minister to congratulate al-Halbousi on his election as Speaker of Parliament for its sixth session.

The statement further elaborated that both parties stressed the significance of Parliament’s oversight and legislative roles. They also highlighted the necessity for coordination between the legislative and executive branches to bolster state institutions.
