Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi and Minister of Communications Mustafa Sanad engaged in discussions regarding the current state of the telecommunications sector and the ministry’s strategic plans aimed at developing infrastructure and enhancing internet and communications services.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s media office released a press statement indicating that Al-Halbousi hosted Minister Mustafa Jabbar Sanad. The meeting focused on evaluating the telecommunications sector, outlining plans for infrastructure development, and the enhancement of internet and communications services. The dialogue also included discussions on digital transformation and projects related to government connectivity.
The statement further specified that the meeting deliberated on the proposed Ministry of Communications law. It emphasized the necessity of regulating relationships and defining powers between the ministry and the Communications and Media Commission. Such measures are considered crucial for the development of the telecommunications sector and aim to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
