Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi and a delegation from the Christian Suwayana bloc, led by MP Kaldo Ramzi Oghna, engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening the legislative and oversight functions of Parliament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s media office released a statement highlighting that Speaker al-Halbousi hosted the delegation from the Christian Suwayana bloc. The meeting focused on addressing several files and issues pertinent to the Christian community, alongside discussions on enhancing the legislative and oversight capabilities of the parliamentary body.

The discussions underscored the mutual interest in reinforcing Parliament’s role in governance and ensuring that the needs and concerns of the Christian community are adequately represented and addressed within the legislative framework.
