Baghdad:Mohammed Al-Halbousi, the head of the Taqaddum Party, stated that achieving full sovereignty necessitates ongoing efforts to ensure that arms are under state control.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Halbousi expressed his congratulations to the Iraqi people on Sovereignty Day, recognizing it as a significant national milestone. He praised the government’s achievements in this regard and acknowledged the efforts of state institutions in enhancing security, stability, and supporting independent national decision-making. Al-Halbousi also appreciated the role of International Coalition forces in aiding Iraq during its fight against terrorism.

He emphasized the need for continuous efforts to ensure that arms are strictly under the control of the state. This includes maintaining the state’s exclusive authority over decisions related to war and peace, as well as reinforcing the power of constitutional institutions. These measures are crucial for preserving Iraq’s security, stability, and national decision-making.

Al-Halbousi expressed hope that Sovereignty Day would mark the start of a new era where stability is further strengthened and Iraq continues to act in accordance with its own interests, sovereignty, and independent decision-making.
