Al-Maliki Calls for Comprehensive, Centralized Salary Scale Reform


Baghdad: The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, announced today his solidarity with the demands of educators, service employees, workers, and human rights activists, advocating for salary adjustments that account for the state’s financial capabilities. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the peaceful nature of demonstrations and avoiding confrontations with security forces.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Maliki expressed his views in a tweet on his official account on the “X” platform, formerly known as Twitter. He stated, “Solidarity with the demands of educators, service employees, workers, and human rights activists to adjust their salaries is a necessity. We call for a comprehensive and centralized salary scale reform that takes into account the state’s capabilities.”



He further emphasized the need for peaceful demonstrations, urging that any potential exploitation of the protests by negative agendas be avoided. Al-Maliki noted that the message of the demonstrators has been received, but warned against any escalation that could lead to clashes with security forces.
